Pathways Students

Community College Pathways

Begin your education at a local community college and finish your bachelor’s degree at locations near you. Take classes at night, on weekends and online. 

After graduation your path continues with professional development classes or a graduate degree. NIU’s resources are close by in the Hoffman Estates, Naperville, and Rockford areas.

The 2 + 2 Pathway

Earn your AA or AS degree then continue with NIU.  You  just need 60 hours at NIU to complete either these degrees!

Certificate Options

Gain a competitive advantage by earning a certificate – as a stand-along credential or as part of a bachelor’s degree completion program. 

The 3 + 1 Pathway

Earn an AAS degree and complete your general education courses at your local community college. You’ll only need about 24-32 more credit hours with NIU to complete one of the following degrees:

Earn an AAS degree in specific feeder programs and finish your bachelors in these areas
